Kumiko Matsushima, born and raised in Tokyo, is a multi media artist (painting, photography, collages) who spent 8 years in the U.S. While pursuing a business career, inspired by the colorful Manhattan, Kumiko started painting in New York, one day out of the blue. Painting cured her from depression and she eventually majored in painting from Pratt Institute, NY, graduating with honor, in 2005. She moved to Hong Kong in 2009. Since her New York days, Kumiko has been exhibiting her work, in both solo and group shows, in New York, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. She is also an active member of The American Women's Association of Hong Kong, organizing art events for its Art Lovers group.
